ABOUTSaulius Lukosevicius (born and raised in Lithuania) is a cinematographer currently based in Vilnius. Since receiving his BA in Audiovisual Arts in 2010, Saulius has been working as a freelance DP across a wide range of film projects.
Saulius was selected for the Berlinale Talents in 2012 and received the Best Cinematography Award from the Lithuanian Association of Cinematographers in 2017. He has been a member of the association since 2013. He is known for taking on adventurous productions under extreme conditions around the world. A month-long journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway through frozen Russia, rock climbing in the Tian Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan, walking on active volcanoes in Indonesia, documenting a historic non-stop round-the-world Rozière balloon flight in Australia, and Chernobyl are just a few of the projects he has worked on. Films shot by Saulius have traveled worldwide, receiving numerous prestigious awards and nominations, including recognition at the European Film Awards, Student Academy Awards, Italian Academy Awards, and Lithuanian Film Awards. To further develop his craft, Saulius earned his MFA in Cinematography at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles. Today, he is based in Lithuania and works internationally across documentary and narrative filmmaking. |
