"The Last Day of School" at Santa Barbara International Film Festival

A short film The Last Day of School (Paskutinis skambutis) will be screened at Santa Barbara International Film Festival later this week. The director Gabriele Urbonaite and I will be there for Q&As after the screenings:
Thursday, January 31st 4pm @ Fiesta Theatre
Friday, February 1st 2pm @ Metro Theatre

VOSTOK N20 IN BIG SKY FILM FESTIVAL

I am very happy to announce that our Vostok N 20 will have it’s American premiere in the 16th Big Sky Documentary film festival in Montana.
Directed by a good friend of mine Elisabeth Silveiro, music created by talented Evgueni Galperine (best European composer 2017 in EFA for Loveless), poems of Marina Tsvetaeva are read by legendary french actress Fanny Ardant, produced by Claire Chassagne, sound recording by Галина Дудякова and colour post production by MADSTONE.
Long story short:
Elisabeth has found me after watching my successfully travelling short film WINTER at one of the film festivals and has invited to join on another journey by train, but this time Moscow - Beijing and gather some material for her new film. And that’s what we did. However, due to financial issues, we never had a chance to come back, so we used that material to make Vostok N20. It took some years, but it’s finally here.
